World's First Mobile Phone
It's very easy nowadays to mistakenly think that phones have existed for a long time. But you would be surprised to know that the first mobile phone was released in 1983, not even four decades old.
Today, when someone wants to buy a mobile phone they have hundreds of options (notably Apple, Samsung, Oneplus, Xiaomi) thanks to globalization and other stuff.
Long story short, this is possible because of the invention of the truly wireless telephone or "Mobile Phone" by Dr. Martin Cooper from Motorola Inc. in 1983.
Weirdly, the first mobile phone was named as "Motorola DynaTAC 8000x" and released with a market price of nearly $4000. Let's look at the specs of this phone:
Phone - Motorola DynaTAC 8000x
Weight - 784 g
Display - LCD
Release date - March 6th, 1983
Talk time - 30 minutes before dying
Touchscreen - obviously, no :)
It seems Motorola has spent a shit load of money, about $100 million and took 10 years to develop the final version of the first mobile phone.
The following quote aptly puts how the mobile phone has negatively affected our lives:
We're living in an era where capturing moments using our phones is more important than actually living these moments with whoever is beside us.
Rarely, in history someone has predicted about the future better than Nikola Tesla did about mobile phones. The below image describes his prediction of "cell phone" back in 1926.
